Alfalfa Leafcutter Bee
Megachile rotundata
Adult alfalfa leafcutter bees forage in sunny fields, gardens, and other flower-rich habitats. They collect nectar for energy and pollen to provision their young, making them valuable pollinators of alfalfa and other crops. Females cut neat circular pieces from leaves to build the lining of individual nest cells.
