Bogotá Rail Chick
Rallus semiplumbeus (chick)

Bogotá Rail chicks stay concealed in dense sedges and marsh vegetation around high-Andean wetlands near Bogotá. They follow adults through shallow water and feed on small invertebrates, seeds, and other morsels they can pick from the mud. Their black down provides camouflage among wet shadows and decaying plant matter.
