Indian Squid
Uroteuthis duvaucelii

Indian squid inhabit coastal and offshore waters of the Indian Ocean, often over continental-shelf habitats. They hunt small fish, crustaceans, and other cephalopods by seizing prey with two extensible feeding tentacles and biting with a hard beak. Their skin can rapidly change colour and pattern for camouflage or signalling. When threatened, they can release an ink cloud and escape quickly by jet propulsion.
