Bronze Mannikin
Lonchura cucullata
Bronze Mannikins inhabit grassy savannas, cultivation, and scrubby edges across much of sub-Saharan Africa. They forage mainly for grass seeds, often picking them directly from seed heads or searching on the ground. Their stout pale bill is well suited to husking tiny seeds, and adults make quick, bounding flights between cover and feeding areas.
