Amur Catfish
Silurus asotus
Adult Amur catfish inhabit lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and slow rivers with soft bottoms and submerged cover. They are mostly nocturnal ambush predators, eating fish, crustaceans, insects, frogs, and other available prey. Long sensory barbels allow them to hunt effectively in darkness and muddy water.
