Sailfin Tang
Zebrasoma velifer

Adult sailfin tangs inhabit coral reefs and rocky lagoons across the Indo-Pacific. They spend much of the day grazing algae from reef surfaces, helping prevent algae from overrunning corals. When alarmed or displaying, they spread their exceptionally tall dorsal and anal fins, and can defend themselves with sharp spines near the tail.
