Tiger Snake
Notechis scutatus

Tiger snakes inhabit wetlands, waterways, coastal heath, and grassland across southern Australia and Tasmania. They are ambush predators that feed chiefly on frogs, fish, lizards, birds, and small mammals. Their variable olive, brown, or banded coloration can provide camouflage, while their venom makes them one of Australia’s medically significant snakes.
