American Dewdrop Spider
Argyrodes elevatus

American dewdrop spiders inhabit shrubs, woodland edges, and gardens across parts of the Americas, usually living within the webs of larger orb-weaving spiders. They move delicately through a host's web to steal trapped insects and may also feed on silk, egg sacs, or small spiders. Their shiny, droplet-like abdomen and careful movements can make them difficult for the host to notice. When threatened, they often freeze or retreat through the web rather than confront a larger animal.
