Dalmatian Wall Lizard
Podarcis melisellensis
Dalmatian wall lizards occupy rocky coasts, dry grasslands, gardens, and old stone walls around the Adriatic region. They bask to warm up, then rapidly chase insects, spiders, and other small prey, sometimes supplementing their diet with plant material. Their excellent climbing and quick reflexes let them escape into cracks in stonework when threatened.
