Ant-Mimicking Spider
Thanatus formicinus

The ant-mimicking spider is a small, ground-running crab spider found in dry grassland, open scrub, and sandy vegetation across parts of Europe and Asia. It actively stalks small insects and other arthropods rather than building a capture web. Its narrow body and ant-like gait help it resemble an ant, a notable form of protective mimicry. A rapid bite subdues prey with venom.
