Garfish
Belone belone
Garfish patrol temperate coastal waters, estuaries, and the surface above seagrass beds. They hunt small fish, crustaceans, and floating prey with a quick thrust of their long, narrow jaws. Adults often travel close to the surface and can leap clear of the water when startled or pursued.
