Black-headed Grosbeak
Pheucticus melanocephalus

Black-headed Grosbeaks breed in open woodland, forest edges, and streamside thickets across western North America. They forage among foliage and branches for caterpillars, beetles, berries, and seeds, crushing tougher food with their large bill. Males are strikingly patterned with a black head and orange breast, while the species migrates south for winter.
