Bar-shouldered Dove
Geopelia humeralis

Bar-shouldered Doves inhabit open woodland, savanna, farmland, and suburban gardens across northern Australia and southern New Guinea. They forage chiefly on the ground for grass seeds and other small plant material, usually moving with quick, deliberate steps. Their name comes from the distinctive dark barring across each shoulder, visible when the wings are folded.
