Hickory Tussock Moth
Lophocampa caryae

Adult hickory tussock moths are nocturnal and occur around deciduous forests, woodland edges, and yards across eastern North America. They fly at night, often visiting lights, while females seek suitable host foliage on which to lay eggs. Adults have pale wings marked with dark spots and take in little or no food during their brief adult lives.
