Iberian Green Woodpecker
Picus sharpei

The Iberian green woodpecker inhabits open forests, wooded farmland, olive groves, and large gardens across much of Iberia. It spends much of its time on the ground, probing for ants with its long sticky tongue, though it also climbs trunks and excavates nest holes. Its loud ringing calls and drumming help advertise territory.
