Ornate Crane Fly
Ctenophora flaveolata

Adults occur around deciduous woodland, woodland edges, and flower-rich clearings near dead timber. They fly delicately among vegetation and may take nectar or moisture from flowers. The adult is short-lived, with much of its activity devoted to finding mates and suitable egg-laying sites. Its conspicuously patterned yellow-and-dark body gives this crane fly its ornate appearance.
