African Harrier-Hawk
Polyboroides typus

The African Harrier-Hawk inhabits wooded savanna, forest edges, and gardens across sub-Saharan Africa. It hunts while flying slowly through trees, often climbing among branches to inspect holes and crevices for prey. Its diet includes nestling birds, eggs, rodents, lizards, insects, and fruit. Exceptionally flexible double-jointed legs let it reach deep into cavities that other raptors cannot probe.
