Pygmy Marmoset
Cebuella pygmaea
The pygmy marmoset inhabits lowland Amazonian forests, moving rapidly through vines and slender tree branches. It feeds heavily on tree sap and gum, gouging bark with specialized lower teeth, while also taking insects, fruit, and nectar. As the smallest monkey in the world, it can cling securely to vertical trunks using claw-like nails.
