Long-toed Salamander
Ambystoma macrodactylum

Adults inhabit moist forests, meadows, and woodland edges, usually remaining close to breeding ponds. They spend much of their time concealed beneath logs, stones, and leaf litter, emerging at night or during wet weather to hunt insects, worms, and other small invertebrates. Their notably long outer toes help distinguish them from many other salamanders.
