Blackbuck
Antilope cervicapra

Blackbuck inhabit dry grasslands, open scrub, and agricultural edges across the Indian subcontinent. They graze mainly on grasses and also eat leaves, pods, and cultivated crops when available. Adults are alert, fleet-footed antelope that use rapid zigzagging runs and long leaps to evade predators. Males grow distinctive spiralling horns and may clash with rivals during breeding displays.
