Yellow starthistle rosette weevil
Ceratapion basicorne
Adult yellow starthistle rosette weevils live on yellow starthistle plants in dry grasslands and disturbed areas where their host grows. They feed on plant tissues and females place eggs around the rosette and root-crown region for the next generation. Though only a few millimetres long, adults can fly between host plants to find feeding and breeding sites.
