Argent And Sable
Rheumaptera hastata
The adult Argent And Sable moth inhabits open woodland, clearings, and scrub where birch and alder grow. It flies chiefly at dusk and at night, visiting flowers for nectar and sometimes coming to lights. Its sharply patterned black-and-white wings provide disruptive camouflage when it settles against mottled bark or pale foliage.
