Straight-lined Plagodis
Plagodis phlogosaria
This small geometer moth inhabits deciduous woods, forest margins, and shrubby clearings. Adults fly chiefly at night and sip moisture or other available liquids while seeking mates and suitable trees for egg-laying. The pale, barklike wings bear a distinct straight line that breaks up the moth's outline when it rests on a trunk.
