Rudman's Nudibranch
Phyllodesmium rudmani
Rudman's nudibranch lives on shallow tropical reefs, creeping over soft corals in search of food. It feeds on octocorals, using a rasping radula to remove tissue. The slug can retain defensive stinging cells and symbiotic algae from its coral prey, with its leaflike cerata increasing the surface area available for these associations.
