Florida corallimorpharian
Ricordea florida

Adult Florida corallimorpharians live attached to hard substrate in clear, warm waters around Florida and the Caribbean. Broad, knobbed tentacles capture zooplankton and small drifting prey, while symbiotic algae supply additional energy. Although often mistaken for a mushroom coral, this animal lacks the hard stony skeleton of true reef-building corals.
