Coconut Octopus
Amphioctopus marginatus

Coconut octopuses inhabit sandy and muddy seafloors in shallow tropical waters of the western Pacific. They hunt small crabs, shrimp, and other bottom-dwelling invertebrates, using their arms and beak to seize prey. This agile octopus can rapidly change color and posture to blend into the seabed. It is famous for carrying and assembling coconut shell halves or other discarded shells as a portable shelter.
