Superb Brittle Star
Ophiolepis superba

The adult Superb Brittle Star inhabits tropical reef bottoms, especially sheltered rubble fields and spaces beneath stones. It emerges to scavenge organic matter and collect fine food particles with its flexible arms. Like other brittle stars, it can discard an injured arm to escape a predator and later regenerate the lost limb.
