Crab Spider
Thomisus onustus
Crab spiders live in flower-rich meadows, grasslands, scrub, and garden edges, where they wait among blossoms and foliage. Rather than building a prey-catching web, they rely on camouflage and sit motionless until an insect comes within reach. Flies, bees, butterflies, and other visiting insects are seized with their powerful front legs and bitten. Thomisus onustus can vary from white or yellow to pinkish or greenish, helping it blend with the flowers it hunts from.
