March Fly
Bibio lanigerus

Adult March flies inhabit woodland edges, hedgerows, and grassy places, especially in spring. They visit flowers for nectar and may also take moisture from damp ground. Their stout, hairy bodies resemble small bees, but they are harmless flies with a single pair of functional wings.
