Banded Goby
Amblygobius phalaena

The adult banded goby lives over sandy bottoms near coral reefs, often staying close to sheltered patches of rubble or seagrass. It feeds by taking mouthfuls of sand and sifting out small crustaceans, worms, and other invertebrates. Its bold pale-and-dark banding helps break up its outline against the reef floor.
