Dark-winged Fungus Gnat
Sciara militaris
Adult dark-winged fungus gnats inhabit shaded, humid woodland, gardens, greenhouses, and other places with decaying vegetation. They fly weakly around fungi and damp soil, while adults may take moisture or nectar and do not bite people. Their larvae can be important decomposers, though they may also damage delicate plant roots when numerous.
