Fungus Gnat
Ctenosciara hyalipennis
Adult fungus gnats occur in humid woods, wetlands, greenhouses, and other places with abundant decaying vegetation and fungi. They make short, delicate flights through shaded vegetation and may take moisture or small amounts of nectar-like fluids. The long-legged adults are weak fliers, but their wings let them quickly leave danger and locate moist breeding sites.
