Chinese Red-headed Centipede
Scolopendra subspinipes

Chinese red-headed centipedes inhabit humid forest litter, rotting logs, gardens, and other sheltered ground cover across parts of Asia. They hunt at night, using sensitive antennae to locate insects, spiders, and occasionally small vertebrates. Powerful venom claws beneath the head seize prey and inject venom. Despite their many legs, they move with surprising speed and usually hide in crevices by day.
