Red-and-Black Froghopper
Haematoloma dorsatum
Adults inhabit sunny grasslands, field margins, and scrub where suitable sap-bearing plants grow. They feed on plant sap and readily leap away when disturbed, using powerful hind legs to escape danger. The red-and-black adult is also capable of short flights between stems and patches of vegetation.
