Marine Betta
Calloplesiops altivelis

Adult marine bettas inhabit shaded caves, reef overhangs, and coral crevices in Indo-Pacific waters. They are mostly nocturnal hunters, feeding on small fishes, crustaceans, and other invertebrates. During the day, they commonly hover head-down in shelter or remain concealed deep in a crevice. Their dark body and pale spots resemble the pattern of a moray eel, an appearance that may discourage predators.
