Blueband Hermit Crab
Pagurus samuelis

Adults inhabit rocky shores and shallow coastal waters, sheltering in crevices and tide pools when exposed by the tide. They are opportunistic scavengers that eat algae, carrion, and small invertebrates. Their blue-banded legs emerge from a borrowed snail shell, which can be sealed off with their enlarged claw when threatened.
