Giant Carpet Anemone
Stichodactyla gigantea

Adult giant carpet anemones occupy shallow sandy lagoons and reef flats across the Indo-Pacific. Their broad, densely tentacled discs capture small fish and invertebrates, while symbiotic algae provide additional energy in sunlight. The sticky tentacles contain stinging cells and may shelter clownfish, which can live among them without being harmed.
