Spodoptera exigua

Beet Armyworm

The adult beet armyworm is a small, mostly nocturnal moth found around cropland, gardens, and weedy open ground. It flies after dark to seek nectar and suitable plants on which to lay eggs. Females place clusters of eggs on foliage, covering them with scales from the abdomen. Adults can disperse widely and may appear far from where they developed.
