Ground Skimmer
Diplacodes trivialis
The adult Ground Skimmer hunts over sunny ponds, marshes, rice fields, and other open wetland edges. It catches mosquitoes, flies, and other small insects while flying, often returning to a low perch between hunting sorties. Its large compound eyes provide nearly all-round vision for tracking prey in the air.
