Japanese Toad
Bufo praetextatus

Japanese toads inhabit woodland margins, gardens, farmland, and other moist terrestrial habitats, returning to ponds and streams to breed. Mostly active at night, they stalk insects, spiders, worms, and other small animals from low cover. Large glands behind the eyes secrete irritating toxins, making the toad an unpleasant meal for many predators.
