Siamese Rhinoceros Beetle
Xylotrupes gideon
Adult Siamese rhinoceros beetles inhabit tropical woodland, plantations, and areas with decaying timber. They feed on tree sap, fruit, and other sugary plant fluids, and are most active at night. Males use their prominent horns to shove, lift, and dislodge rival males while competing for feeding or breeding sites.
