Coral Top Shell
Clanculus corallinus

Coral top shells live on hard coastal bottoms, including rocky reefs and coral-associated surfaces. They crawl slowly over stone and rubble, grazing films of algae with a rasping radula. The adult retreats into its sturdy, conical shell when disturbed and can seal the opening with an operculum. Its patterned shell helps it blend among encrusted rock and coral debris.
