Thick Top Shell
Phorcus lineatus

The adult thick top shell lives on wave-washed rocky shores, especially among seaweeds and crevices. It slowly grazes films of algae from stone with its rasping radula. Its thick, patterned shell and tight-fitting operculum help it withstand predators and exposure at low tide.
