Emperor Gum Moth
Opodiphthera eucalypti
Adult emperor gum moths inhabit eucalypt woodland and open forest across southeastern Australia. They fly chiefly at night, using their broad wings to travel in search of mates. Adults have reduced mouthparts and generally do not feed, surviving on reserves accumulated during the caterpillar stage.
