Fennec Fox
Vulpes zerda
The fennec fox lives in sandy North African deserts, resting in deep dens during the hottest hours. Mostly active at night, it hunts insects, rodents, lizards, and eggs with quick pounces and bites. Its exceptionally large ears help release body heat and can detect prey moving beneath the sand.
