Dichromothrips corbetti

Adult Dichromothrips corbetti inhabits tropical orchids and other flowering vegetation, where it feeds by rasping plant cells and taking up their contents. The slender adult can move quickly between flowers and uses its fringed wings for short flights. Despite its minute size, heavy feeding by thrips can scar petals and deform tender plant tissue.
