Western Caddisfly
Hesperophylax designatus

The adult Western Caddisfly is found around streams, lakes, and nearby vegetation, especially during warm evenings. Adults rest on plants or rocks by day and fly after dusk, seeking mates and places to lay eggs in water. Its hairy wings are held rooflike over the body when at rest, giving it a mothlike appearance.
