Antlike Scavenger Fly
Sepsis cynipsea

Adults occur around livestock dung, compost, and sunny grassland edges. They feed on nectar, moisture, and nutrient-rich films on dung, while males may gather and display to rivals or potential mates. The flies run briskly and make short, rapid flights between feeding and breeding sites. Their narrow bodies and active foreleg displays give them an antlike appearance.
