Blue Morpho
Morpho peleides
Adult Blue Morphos fly through tropical forest clearings, riversides, and the canopy edge. They feed mainly on fermented fruit juices, tree sap, and other mineral-rich liquids. Males often patrol sunny paths, and their brilliant blue upper wings are produced by microscopic structures rather than blue pigment.
