Menelaus Blue Morpho
Morpho menelaus
Adult Menelaus blue morphos fly through tropical rainforest clearings and along rivers in Central and South America. They feed mainly on fermenting fruit, tree sap, and other nutrient-rich liquids rather than flower nectar. Males patrol sunny gaps in the forest, and their brilliant blue upperwings are produced by microscopic structures that reflect light.
